I spend the entire day running errands. This morning I hit the gym for about 45 minutes, super short for my usual workout but my bad knee was acting up so better safe than sorry.<br />

I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me but it did so I decided to do an insanity workout but of course my dog doesn't leave me alone. She lays all over my mat, licks my sweat off (so gross I know), and barks at me constantly. It's so annoying I try to do insanity only when absolutely necessary because its the same every time. <br />

Even though I had a bad workout it's way better than no workout so it will do for today.<br />

I'm dreading going back to school, this morning I waited 20 minutes in line at the bookstore for 2 books, renewed my decal and bought school supplies. My first class of the day doesn't start until 6:00 pm, luckily its Intro to spanish and only once and week.<br />
<br />
Plus I understand Spanish! Reading, writing and speaking ehh not so great but still I definitely have it somewhat easier than my peers.<br />

This Monday would be my first day of school but thanks to Tropical Storm Isaac I have one more day of freedom.Yes, it's a very drab, rainy and sad looking day but I plan to make the best of it.<br />

I am changing my outlook on things this school year and decided to give blogging another try. I am determined to reach new goals and try new things. I am excited to start this off right and am happy to be writing again.<br />
<br />
I guess I'll give a little re-introduction since I've been MIA for a while. I am currently living in South Florida, my dream job/ultimate goal is to become a Physical therapist. I enjoy working out in any and every form. Weight training, running,HIIT, workout DVDs, the whole shaabang! I have struggled with food and hate talking about it so everyday I just try to do my best. I work at Tropical Smoothie Cafe..and I could use a raise. I love my family, boyfriend, and Candie (my Pomeranian.) I enjoy staying in much more than going out all night..compared to my high school self!<br />
I have realized how important it is to grow up in college, I now face the ever challenging balance of life. Cant wait to share my ups and downs with all my readers..like there's anyone left reading this..oh well!<br />

I enjoyed it very much it was a beautiful day, we picked up some fruit and almonds and then headed home. My mom is on the HCG diet so our stroll was her entire workout for the day. I don't agree with the HCG diet but I guess it works for her and others. If you've heard of it I'd love to hear your thoughts.</span></div>

Last night I went out with Karina and Chris we met up with my old roommate Caroline and her friends. I have to tell you its was the first time I'd ever been to Downtown Ft.Lauderdale at night. We hit a few bars and clubs and had a few drinks. I stayed out way past my bedtime by a good 5 hours but it was well worth the experience.<br />

Since it is spring break for most colleges in Florida I saw a bunch of people from high school. Its so strange to see most of my high school class in one place as if we were back in high school. It reminded me of how awful it was to be in high school and have to see all those people every day. I was definitely happy to be with real friends instead of the fake phony people from my high school.<br />

Don't get me wrong, I have a few great friends that I saw for a bit but it was so crowded we ended up going to a different place for a few hours then came back to "high school club" by that time my feet were killing me and I was ready to leave. My sister took 30 minutes to convince but finally we left.<br />

It was very easy to follow but lately I've been dreading my meals. I'm getting tired of the same old thing. Oats are everywhere. I love oats but this is way too much.<br />

I come from a big Spanish family where carbs are one of the biggest food groups. On Sundays we have tea with carbs, bread, cakes, muffins any kind of carb. Its been my biggest challenge over the years but this plan makes it simple to have carbs and then cut them every other day.<br />

The challenge would be calculating the grams of protein, carbs and fats for each day. I will have to plan my meals meticulously but I believe this will be the meal plan that is the right fit.<br />

On high carb days I will consume 108 grams of carbs, 90 grams of protein and as little fats as possible, and lots of veggies. On low carb days I will consume 24 grams of carbs, 108 grams of protein and 12 grams of fat.<br />

It seemed like a coincidence that Chris and I were just watch the movie Blood Diamond which sheds light on the child soldiers in Africa. I clicked on the video to find out more information, and felt I had to share.<br />

After watching the video I thought of all the things I take for granted and how blessed I am to have this life I am living. Everyone struggles with one thing or another but when you take a step back and look at the big picture, things could be much worse.<br />

I did not go to physical therapy volunteering this morning because my ankle is still not 100% healed but I did get a lot accomplished. My sister is coming down from Tallahassee where she is studying at Florida State University so I cleaned up her room and the entire house. Plus I bought my sis some junk food. The girl is a twig but loves her white bread and oreo cookies!<br />

I wish I could spend the rest of the afternoon in the sun but my baby girl is sick. Candie has been having stomach issues for a few days now so after meal 3 Chris and I are driving her to the vet 45 minutes away.<br />

<u>March Goals:</u><br />1- Over spring break do 2-a-days at the gym.<br />2- Stick to the meal plan<br />3- Alternate workouts every two weeks.<br />4- At the end of the month seek advice from the female bodybuilders at the gym.<br />

Did I just give it away? Well yes, I am going to train to become an <strong>amateur</strong> female body builder. A few employee at my gym do it and it looks like so much fun.<br />

I am still a bit limpy from my ankle injury so I cannot start the exercise program. Although I can feel my ankle improving, it may take a few more days to fully recover. as for now I am perfecting my meal plan.<br />

My meal plan consist of 3 small meals and 2 protein shakes in between. It's a lot of food but it will help me build muscle and definition so I'll do what it takes. My biggest problem is carrying it all to school. I'm seriously thinking of buying a lunch box haha.<br />

It was a hell of a trip, my mom and I drove up to Kissimmee yesterday for the expo. I had my corral changed from H to B because of my proof of time..thank goodness, the anticipation of waiting in the corrals is so intense luckily there was only 1 ahead of me!<br />

I
slept only 2 hours before the race, the excitement kept me awake but
my mood quickly changed. I drove to Epcot only to find the road was
closed so I followed the detour which lead me in circles for half an
hour. I pulled up to a cop car and the nice police woman lead me to the
open entrance.<br />
<br />
I began the race strong, I felt great my knees were fine but I didn't
know how fast I was going since my watch was on a different setting.<br />
<br />
By mile 2 & 3 the markers were telling me I was running around 8
minute miles! I was so confused I felt fast but not that fast, I decided
to just go with it and just run without looking at the markers.<br />
<br />
Before mile 7 the course leads into the Magic Kingdom and you get to run through the castle! It was so awesome, I loved every second of running in the park.<br />

Unfortunately My runners high came to an end with the sharp pain in my
ankle, out of no where it began to hurt so I stopped to take a picture
with a princess and stretch it out.<br />

It was devisting but I had to just finish the race and make the best of
it. I ran through the pain as much as possible but I didn't feel too
good about it.<br />
<br />
I finished the race and let out a cry from the pain in my ankle, the kind ladies took me to the aid station and iced me up.<br />
<br />
I slowly walked towards the parking lot and realized I forgot where I
parked. It took me 30 minutes and another cry to find the car.
Thankfully I found it, went back to the hotel and told my mom of the
crazy race I ran.<br />

We left immediately after breakfast and got home by lunch. I checked my
results and I could not believe my eyes, I ran it in 2 hours and 15
minutes! Only 3 minutes more than my first half last month!<br />

What an adventure! I'm ready to get back into weight training and a rest from running distance.<br />

This week my diet has been fairly consistent with the meal plan I have chosen to follow. Lots of oats and protein shakes. Not to mention carbo-loading that is not in the meal plan but necessary for my Disney princess half marathon Sunday. <br />

I bought Myofusion because the plant protein I bought a few weeks ago tastes like play dough. Really gross.Thank you financial aid for finally coming in the mail. I know have a little extra money for expenses like this big tub of yum. <br />

Another miraculous event occurred today, I received word from my teacher about my test grade. Originally I received a 15% on my first Chemistry test (I almost cried I was in so much shock) but I realized I may have put the wrong test number on my scan tron. He emailed me with my real grade which was an 81%. I was so relieved! <br />
<br />
As for my Anatomy lecture midterm I got an A! I studied my ass off and it paid off, now for the practical Monday morning I'm not too sure of. I have the rest of the weekend to cram as much in as possible. <br />
<br />
I'm planning on studying on the way up to Orlando (4 hours) and back since my mom's coming I will only have to drive half way. Tomorrow we will be leaving in the afternoon in for packet pick up. <br />
<br />
The excitement is already kicking in, I have to pack my bags but I do know what I'm wearing for the race! <br />

I am so excited to go, I cant even remember the last time I went to the Disney theme parks, you'd think because I live in Florida I go all the time but no I haven't been since I was maybe 8 years old. <br />

This morning I ran without my watch, without my phone and most importantly without any pain in my knees and feet. I also ran out of tape for my feet so I was very nervous to run without any support on my arches but they were fine!<br />

I drank my amino energy and went out the door with only my music, back when I was on the cross country team I never ran with music, coach did not allow it, so I got use to it. Now that I am no longer on a team I prefer music, but I can always run without it.<br />

I usually take the same route on Sundays with little modifications so I have an idea of the mileage, but regardless it felt great to get out there and run without any pains what so ever! Hopefully I will stay pain free for my half marathon! <br />

She immediately offered to book a hotel for us, even though she was not planning on going up to Orlando. Luckily we only have to stay one night since the packet pick-up is open until 6 and check in is at 4. I'm so grateful to have a mother that is there for me whenever I need her.<br />

I didn't always have a great relationship with my mom and we are still building on one. She says its because we're so similar we tend to butt heads often. Which is putting it lightly, I gave my mom hell growing up. But when it came down to it she was always there to catch me.<br />

My mom is the strongest woman I know. When she was 18 years old she had to move from the country she grew up in and loved to come to the U.S. she had to learn English and work her way through college. She has been a single mom of 2 crazy girls for over 10 years.On top of supporting my sister and I fully, she works a full time job while attending classes to finish a Master Degree. <br />

My mom is a my hero. I realize, more and more, as I get older how important it is to get along and befriend your mother. Shes the only friend that loves you enough to go to the moon and back for you.<br />

A few strawberries (not pictures obviously) an a whole wheat waffle with peanut butter and a dark chocolate heart. I melted and mixed the pb and chocolate to make the most delicious spread. I was in love!<br />

My anatomy teacher clearly did not get the memo that you must be loving on Valentines Day because I was assigned to present today. I <b>hate</b> presenting in front of the class it makes me so nervous. I know nobody really cares what I'm saying but the sound of my voice in complete silents gives me such anxiety. I am beyond happy to have it over with!<br />

Chris hates Valentines Day so when he brought me a card before my class it really made me so happy! I also received some a small box of chocolate from a stranger for watching her stuff for a few minutes. I was so surprised!!<br />

Not only was I super busy with school work I needed some time to think if and how I should continue my blog.</span><br />

I had hoped to write everyday but it just cannot be done with my hectic schedule. I will continue blogging maybe everyday maybe not it all depends on what's going on in my life.</span><br />

I got there too late on Saturday so I couldn't run with them but I said I'd be there this Saturday. </span><br />

I have a pretty big decision to make. It sounds crazy to run 2 half marathons a week apart but it would only be for fun. Plus the Disney half is one that I will be taking my time and enjoying. I love Disney so I can't wait to be there running in the park!</div>

My arms and legs are covered in goose bump at all times, Chris loves to make fun of my bumpy skin because he's the complete opposite he's a total hot box.<br />

Before this semester of anatomy I didn't think too much of my little goose bumps but I now know what is going on underneath my skin controlling the hair to stand erect. Its the piloerector muscle that does it! My pilerectors must be body builders because they are always at work!<br />

Obviously the treadmill was the next alternative. Before my run I did some arm circuits, I was tempted to go into a class but I knew I had to get back into my running routine. So after an hour of arm and ab workouts I began my run. I ran at a 6.0 pace and included 3 1-minute sprints through out each 10-minute interval. I did this for 3 miles and really worked up a sweat. I was really tired at this point so I got off. I felt that my workout was enough and I could return later if I really wanted to get the other 2 miles in. <br />
<br />
Reluctantly I stepped on the scale. I do this all the time so normally I just look at the number and get on with my day. Except recently I have been hating my scale for the lack of movement I'm seeing. Don't get me wrong I love that it's not going up but bummer its not going down either! I'm trying to limit my time with the scale to once a week but today I just couldn't resist and I was so upset..still no movement. <br />
<br />
I hate being controlled by the scale, it's one of my many goals, hopefully by the end of the month I will be free of everyday weigh ins. Lets all pray haha. <br />

Anyways, rewind to last night. I was so hungry after spending all day at school I needed something quick and easy for dinner but when I opened my fridge I had no meat ready to re-heat. Quickly I remembered my mom had bought turkey burgers that quickly defrost. I made the burgers, cooked a bag of frozen spinach and made pizza. <br />

I made one for me and one for my mother, she's the one who gave me the genius idea to use a pita instead of one of those store bought pizza crusts. Thanks mom! <br />

I was feeling very disappointed in myself, hence the minimal post this weekend. Not to mention boyfriends team lost the Superbowl! Again it was raining but that didn't stop me from driving to the gym, I ended up staying for Laurie's class. I've known Laurie since I was 13, when I first started going to the gym I would take her aerobics class. She now teaches step and abs, I haven't done a step class in forever so I was just getting the hang of all the moves, it was something different so I enjoyed it.<br />

After the class Laurie invited me to run with her group on Saturdays, they run 10 miles and meet near my house. I was so touched that she did that, she also ran the half marathon but much faster than me! I think I'll try it out but I also have to keep training for my February half marathon as well. <br />

I am even more dedicated to being healthy after this past not-so-healthy weekend. <br />

I didn't have a chance to post yesterday because I was running around all day, I couldn't even volunteer! I was spending copious hours at the computer doing my anatomy project so eventually I had to get up off my butt and get moving.<br />

I spent 2 hours at the gym and it felt awesome. Sometimes I just love going in the middle of the day I feel much more energized! I did the stair master for the first time in oh say a month?? I don't know why I stopped using this machine I absolutely love it.<br />

Afterwards, my grandma invited me over to taste what she had made. My grandma is a chef, she should open up a restaurant her food would sell so quick, so of course I hopped in the car and went.<br />

She had a lovely eggplant lasagna made for me, it was to die for! My 6 other cousins were also at her house. The oldest live an hour or so away so it was nice to see them. I feel so old when they're around because I always picture them as little girls but in reality they are teenagers, 14 and 16!<br />

I think back to that age and it feels like light years ago.. even though I'm only 19! I'm so happy they are healthy and enjoying high school unlike myself at that age. They told me they got a gym membership and one of them is trying out for cross country. Can you imagine how proud I am? :)<br />

2.) I am so nervous about <strong>nursing</strong> school/ entrance exams I am such a worrier when it comes to applying to things, I swore in high school I would get a 400 on my SATs and be denied by every university. In reality I was accepted to all the school I applied to and scored 1100. But still I cant help it, nursing school makes me anxious! <br />

3.) I may be withdrawing from <strong>coffee</strong> due to the fact that my keurig has a mind of its own. Some days it makes coffee and others is just freaks out and gives me water -_- this is so not cool. I miss my coffee, I'm tired and suffer from headaches since the malfunctioning began. <br />

6.) <strong>I live with my boyfriend</strong>, due to financial reasons my mom graciously allows him to stay with us until he saves up for his own apartment. At first, it was weird sharing everything with him but now its normal. We both do our own things so it's never over bearing to have him around. <br />

7.) My favorite movie of all time is <strong>The Sound of Music</strong>. My mom made my sister and I watch it at an early age and we loved all the singing and dancing, still true today I love it! <br />

8.) I have a love/ hate relationship with my dog <strong>Candie</strong>. She loves to bark at all hours of the day she can drive me crazy but shes so little and cute,plus I've had her for forever so she's basically apart of the family. <br />

9.) <strong>My sister is my best friend</strong>, shes been there for me from the start. We're only one year apart so we've always done everything together. Of course we fight but now that we are older we have a much better relationship. <br />

10.) I tend to keep people at an <strong>arms distance</strong>. I let myself get super busy that I forget about friends and other things and become somewhat of a hermit. I don't do it on purpose it just kind of happens but I need to work on it and build better relationships with people. <br />

11.) I write a "<strong>To Do</strong>" list daily. Partially to remind myself of the things I need to do and partially to feel accomplished at the end of the day. It's always written in my iPhone under the notes. <br />

Instead of using a mango and papaya with my carrots I used 2 oranges and about 4 carrots to make juice.<br />

I couldn't find the top piece that pushed down the food so I used a cup. It was VERY messy to say the least I think I have some pulp in my hair,not to mention all over my kitchen.<br />

I opened up the compartment where all the pulp goes and guess what was there? The pusher downer thingy!! I was so upset I didn't look there in the first place, but hey at least I didn't lose it.<br />

The last time I made carrot juice I used the pulp to make carrot pulp cake, this time I made cupcakes! I love the idea of a bite size treat! I sprinkled chia seeds on to them and they came out delicious.<br />

Later today I'm going to drop them off at my uncles house, he has 3 little kids so they'd love these cupcakes :)<br />

-On the <strong>5th of the month</strong>, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.<br />
-You will have until the <strong>15th of the month</strong> to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the <strong>last day of the month</strong>, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!<br />
-The boxes are to be filled with <strong>fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats</strong>! <strong>The spending limit is $15</strong>. <strong>The box must also include something written.</strong> This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!<br />

If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.<br />
